Flora still had two more weeks of pregnancy planned until her foal would come but we all know things can't always go to plan. We were watching the mares with their swollen bellies lazily grazing in the late morning. The whole team was present as it was time for the usual foaling season game: guess the gender and coat color of the baby. While everyone calculated the possibilities they passed around the little notebook and wrote down their final answers. The winners always gets a freepass for muck day and they can even give the foal its (barn) name. Last foalcrop, team Rachel and Laura got all of them right somehow and as they had to pick the flowers for their wedding they decided not to participate this time. I was last in row dedicated to get it right. Patiently I waited for Céline to enthousiasticly shove the paper into my hands. The second my pen hit the paper Dan covered my eyes in an attempt to distract me. "Eyes on your own row Smit! I'm gonna win this year I can just feel it!" His cocky grin quickly turned to a frown as he pointed to something in the meadow. "Guys, is Flora over there okay?" In all our excitement we had not noticed how the mare was now laying down, taking heavy breaths. Arthur jumped up from the fence and went to take a closer look. He yelled some gibberisch and made a bunch of hand motions. Because none of us understood a word he said, he quickly ran back to us. "She's in labour already. Flora's done this before she will be fine but someone needs to get me my bag, some water and old towels. The rest of you can leave unless you can handle watching it." Hours passed. Some members of the team had continued their chores while a small group was watching the birth from a slight distance. An early, yet healthy foal was born. We all waited patiently for the results. Even though he has a weak stomach, Daniel kept watching to see if his assumptions were right, that he was going to win this time. It didn't take long for us to know the answer, as he basically shouted it from the rooftops. "That's right: A bay filly!" He repeated. "And I, The winner, have already decided on a name..." "We shall name her: SASs Early Bird, Robin as a nickname" And so we all agreed that this would from now on be the starry-eyed filly's name.
Just a small "shoutout" to probarbly one of the more underrated stallions and Robin's dad: Oberon. 'Bear' is one of the only horses I've never created a post about (shame on me) so I wanted to give this sweet and calm fella the attention he deserves <3
A beautiful new stallion stood in the arena overlooked by the club houses' terrace. The palomino seemed to have a way stronger build than the majority of the stallions we already owned. Céline was the first to notice him. The girl got even more excited when she noticed the Irish Sports horse wasn’t the only pretty new boy...
Meet Anchors' Charlie (Kayla Greyson) and his rider Anton Day! With a large new equestrian centre come a lot of new faces. Just like Esmeralda and Felicity they form yet another new pair. Anton's younger brother Alexei is next to arrive with his horse ABRC Oliot. On top of that Esmeralda, Maya and Sarah have left for to buy yet two more horses and we are expecting one last foal! It's going to be a lot busier here all of the sudden
ps: Don't let his sweet face and calm state fool you, this stallion is like dynamite under the saddle!
We don't know much about Anton yet except his name, age (25) and starsign (thanks to Esmeralda we know that apparently he's a Scorpio). He seems to enjoy being the mysterious new guy. He's a very skilled rider, as he can somehow work quite smoothly with his explosive stallion. He's already quite popular with Esmeralda and even Chris -who still denies he blushed while meeting him- which I guess just created an odd love triangle.
Alexei Day aka Anton's brother arrived! Unlike his much taller, moodier sibling, the young boy seems to be a bundle of joy, filled with enthousiasm. With him he brought his sweet stallion ABRC Oliot (Gundrun Ward ) who seemed to enjoy his new place and team. He somehow is not very fond of Chris though. A few days before their arrival, Alex sent us some picutres/ doodles of him introducing himself and Olly. The boy is a bit quirky but creative and kind and I must say I enjoy his company. Céline and I think he's kind of cute too wich made Dan a bit grumpy somehow?
(I hope you can read the handwriting oops)
(A rather simple edit this week not at all cause I got a bit lazy xp)

One of the last posts introducing some newbies We welcomed two new bay beauties: Ct Bel Air (left) and Ct Lost boy (Elizabeth Howell ). As it was such a nice morning, we put them in the meadow after their arrival to blow of some steam after their long trip. In the blink of an eye the sun dissapeared and next thing we knew it was raining cats and dogs. The boys didn't seem to mind the sudden refreshment, Maya and Esmeralda were less pleased. Of course we put them in their new dry stalls right after.
